H&A Coaching Clinics

Do you like what you’ve read here about the Hustle & Attitude philosophy?  Are you a coach or administrator in a youth recreational sports league?

Over the last almost 20 years, I have been holding coaching clinics for a range of clients in Ohio and Arizona. The instruction has been to coaches of different sports (baseball, basketball, flag football, and volleyball), but the message is the same – practical tips for coaches to ensure that their players have a successful season.

Flag Football Fanatics

The Flag Football Fanatics league is one of the largest flag football leagues in America.  With leagues in the Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus areas, thousands of kids have had a positive experience in the league.  My sons played in the league for four seasons and I coached all of them plus another at the request of parents whose sons had played on our team the year before.  In addition to a 90-minute session where I provide tips, tools, and best practices, coaches receive a 20-page color handout with notes from the clinic and several pages of drills they can run in practices.  I also offer coaches a custom playbook that served my teams well during our time in the league.  See the Testimonials page for a quote from the director of Flag Football Fanatics concerning the clinics.  I’ve now completed several rounds of clinics providing instruction to over 1,400 coaches in the Flag Football Fanatics league!

BCNaz Kidz Basketball

For years, the Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene ran a fantastic youth recreational basketball league.  I put on two clinics for coaches in the league.  Each coach left with a 15-20 page handout and their notes from a 1-hour presentation.  The clinic was organized into 4 quarters and covered:

  • 1st Quarter – Planning & Running Effective Practices
  • 2nd Quarter – Making Line-Ups & Managing Games
  • 3rd Quarter – Dealing with the Kids
  • 4th Quarter – Dealing with Parents

Goodyear Parks and Recreation

In 2020 I started a relationship with the Goodyear, Arizona Parks and Recreation Department to provide coaching clinics for the sports they offer. I held my first-ever volleyball coaching clinic for a dozen coaches prior to the spring season. Keeping with the game organization theme, this clinic was broken into three sets (get it!) where the section on ‘Dealing with Referees and Parents’ became the Post-Game session. In the fall of 2020, I also did my first baseball clinic (finally!).

Contact me to set up a clinic for the coaches in your league.  I can tailor the content to suit your specific needs.  Each clinic includes a 60-90 minute presentation as well as a 15-20 page handout.  Prices for the clinics vary depending on the number of coaches and the type of content / handouts you request.
